Material Handler - Flex
This role is aligned to the Coffee Operating Unit as a Material Handler FLEX in Essex Junction, VT.
About the role
As the Material Handler, you will execute storage, material handling, replenishment, and fulfillment functions within the plant while meeting World Class Manufacturing and Distribution standards.
Schedule
Flexible scheduling that helps balance work and personal life. FLEX employees can pick up shifts through our mobile shift management system, with up to 29 hours available per week.
- D1: Monday - Wednesday, with alternating Thursdays, from 6:00am - 6:15pm
- D2: Friday - Sunday, with alternating Thursdays, from 6:00am - 6:15pm
- N1: Monday - Wednesday, with alternating Thursdays, from 6:00pm - 6:15am
- N2: Friday - Sunday, with alternating Thursdays, from 6:00pm - 6:15am
Shifts are available in 6, 8, or 12-hour increments.
Responsibilities
- Move raw materials and finished goods to and from production areas
- Complete system transactions for every physical movement in a timely and accurate manner
- Replenish pick locations as needed
- Load and unload trucks
- Operate forklifts within safety standards
- Report forklift maintenance issues/error codes and fill out inspection sheets daily
- Audit discrepancies with inventory using transaction history
- Participate and assist in inventory cycle counts and reconciliation
- Support all production teams in the plant as needed
- Pick product for customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Use PeopleSoft transactions to process orders
- Operate semi-automatic pallet wrappers as needed
Requirements
- Ability to quickly learn and safely operate powered industrial trucks
- 6 months of forklift operation experience preferred but not required
- Self-motivated team player with the ability to make decisions, communicate, and problem solve
Physical Requirements
- Lift, push, and pull a minimum of 35 pounds and 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to bend, stretch, and sit or stand during the entire shift
- Ability to frequently kneel, squat, climb into forklifts, bend, stoop, and twist
- Ability to work in a variety of temperature and humidity conditions
Pay
Starting at $25.16 per hour plus applicable shift differential. After 6 months, the rate increases to $26.43 per hour.
