Material Handler, Contract

As a Material Handler, you will deliver parts to support the assembly of advanced computer chip manufacturing machines. This role requires on-site presence for in-person work events, trainings, and meetings to foster teamwork, collaboration, and innovation.

About the Role

Facilitates the receipt, verification, computer transaction, and physical movement of all incoming manufactured inventory and non-inventory items. Transports material to other facilities as required.

Work hours: 2nd Shift, Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM. First 4 weeks of training: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM. Overtime required as needed.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily work activities of order processing and physical material movements within the Spares Kitting work center.
• Create and manage work to ensure all shift requirements are adequately covered within established timeframes.
• Ensure work instructions are followed and utilized.
• Maintain employee skills competency and performance standards by completing required training.
• Prioritize daily tasks and complete critical tasks as necessary.
• Execute shift pass-downs.
• Support a system of measurements and metrics to monitor service levels.
• Contribute to the safety and security of the work center, including employees, material, and Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
• Maintain and adjust space layout plans as needed.
• Manage overall physical inventory control processes and assist with root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies by coordinating with cross-functional peers and 3PL warehouse.
• Escalate issues clearly and in a timely manner via written and verbal communication.
• Drive process development and continuous improvement initiatives within the work center.
• Receive and audit incoming materials.
• Conduct daily cycle counts of inventory.
• Process jobs via computer systems.
• Process materials for return to warehouse, supplier, or vendor.
• Package, wrap, and confirm materials approved for shipping.
• Expedite and communicate missing or quality issues within the work center.
• File documentation in accordance with department procedures.
• Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE, e.g., forklift, pallet jack).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Minimum of two years of related experience in warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, or distribution is highly preferred.
• Experience with Oracle, SAP, Business Objects, Power BI, and SharePoint strongly preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Teams; Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work as a self-starter.
• Experience in a Continuous Improvement environment is a plus.
• Experience operating Powered Industrial Equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, preferred.

Work Environment

• Must be willing to work in a warehouse environment, sometimes operating material handling equipment and wearing proper PPE as needed for safety.
• While performing duties, the employee routinely sits, walks, talks, hears, uses hands to keyboard, handles objects, stoops, kneels, crouches, twists, reaches, and stretches.
• May occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds; occasionally required to move around the campus and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be willing to spend the majority of time (greater than 90%, excluding break time) on the warehouse floor, walking, standing, and sitting.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• The environment is generally moderate in temperature and noise level.
• Must wear approved cleanroom attire, including facemask, hood, coveralls, safety shoes, eyewear, and gloves.
