About the role
To function in a group of direct labor personnel in the production of a quality, cost-effective product; maintain adequate production schedules and ensure timely shipment of product to customers; ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding safety and environment. Responsibilities include loading and unloading materials and deliveries, moving them to and from storage areas, machines, loading docks, and/or trailers.
Responsibilities
- Perform each phase of the job in full compliance with all company, state, and/or federal safety and environmental regulations.
- Obtain Valeo certification to safely operate Valeo powered industrial equipment.
- Perform safety checks on equipment prior to and throughout the shift, following equipment procedures at all times.
- Work with established production schedules, pre-stage required supplies and materials to maintain continuous and uninterrupted process flow.
- Obtain, move, and/or store raw, in-process, and/or finished materials and supplies to and from production and other designated areas manually or with assigned material handling equipment.
- Load and/or unload materials and supplies to or from production processing equipment.
- Arrange storage, hold, and production supply areas to facilitate proper rotation, appearance, and accessibility while respecting zoning, 5S, and team improvements.
- Break down and/or dispose of or store packing materials, check identification of materials and product, correct as needed, duplicate labels, sort and store salvage/rework materials, dispose of waste, make up/break down crates and boxes, handle materials, take inventories or cycle checks, and issue materials.
- Use a data terminal to input and retrieve data, duplicate labels, assign shippers, receive JIT calls, and assume additional responsibility for the SAP System.
Qualifications & Skills
- Flexible work availability and comfortable with overtime as needed.
- Ability to read and understand general work instructions.
- Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Reliable, with good initiative, committed, and safety-focused.
- Ability to perform repetitive duties while standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift 20-50 lbs on a daily basis.
- Ability to maintain a safe working environment.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license.
- 2 years of shipping and receiving experience preferred.
Required PPE: Safety Glasses, Safety Shoes, Class II Vest, Hardhat.
