Material Handler

About the role

The Material Handler position at Greenbrier is responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials within or near the plant, yard, or work site. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring efficient operations and timely delivery of materials.

Responsibilities

• Receives, processes, and tags incoming material
• Moves inventory materials to their respective area
• Delivers parts to areas in the plant where work is in progress
• Performs cycle counting and physical inventories as directed
• Maintains forklift trucks in clean, good working order
• Performs other duties as assigned, including but not limited to special processes

Qualifications

• Ability to work within a team environment, communicate professionally with team members and vendors, clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
• Able to organize and prioritize projects and information with accurate turnaround under tight timeframes
• Able to identify, plan, start, and complete projects or other work that needs to be accomplished

• Working postures: Sit occasionally, walk frequently, bend frequently, kneel/squat frequently, crawl occasionally, climb occasionally, reach forward frequently, reach upward frequently, handle/finger frequently
