About the role
The Material Handler position at Greenbrier is responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials within or near the plant, yard, or work site. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring efficient operations and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Receives, processes, and tags incoming material
- Moves inventory materials to their respective area
- Delivers parts to areas in the plant where work is in progress
- Performs cycle counting and physical inventories as directed
- Maintains forklift trucks in clean, good working order
- Performs other duties as assigned, including but not limited to special processes
Qualifications
- Ability to work within a team environment, communicate professionally with team members and vendors, clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
- Able to organize and prioritize projects and information with accurate turnaround under tight timeframes
- Able to identify, plan, start, and complete projects or other work that needs to be accomplished
Physical Requirements
- Work Environment: Hot and cold environments, in and out of the weather, work safely around heavy equipment and on top of and under railcars, as well as around railroad tracks
