Material Handler

About the role

Material Handler assisting in general construction tasks within an industrial construction project environment. Responsible for knowing and following appropriate safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with movement of materials, including spotting for operators during loading and unloading of trucks.
• Check in construction materials upon delivery.
• Perform work area clean-up, including yard maintenance such as weed eating, mowing, and trash pickup.
• Follow job-related instructions and perform additional duties as requested by supervisor or designated representative.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in Industrial Construction, Warehouse, or Supply Chain.
• Reliable transportation and valid Driver’s License.
• Forklift experience is a plus.
• Must pass pre-employment screens, including drug test and background check.
• Per Diem provided if field location is outside of 50 miles from home address.

Safety Requirements

• Promote awareness of environmental, health, and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with company policies.
• Pass drug test as mandated by Saulsbury Industries and Department of Transportation anti-drug program.
• Complete Saulsbury Industries safety training education.
• Attend safety meetings and specialty training as directed by management.
• Take necessary safety precautions in performing work.
• Wear Fire Resistant Clothing (FRC) as required.

Physical Requirements

• Manual and finger dexterity.
• Eye-hand coordination.
• Depth perception.
• Far visual acuity (ability to see things clearly beyond arm’s reach).
• Ability to see small details.
