POSITION SUMMARY
Supports the Print Department by completing material handling, file ripping, electronic transaction, and material preparation tasks according to production standards and schedules.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gathers raw materials required for printing
- Removes completed jobs from presses and delivers to the next operation
- Transacts inventory movements in a timely manner
- Rips print files for operators
- Sheets and squares raw material according to the schedule
- Performs periodic in-process quality checks
- Electronically transacts material movements, as well as order confirmations
- Maintains press scrap for proper recycling
- Operates assigned equipment safely in accordance with company and OSHA safety programs and rules
- Performs work in accordance with approved procedures and work instructions
- Maintains quality points at workstation and records required data
- Reports quality and production concerns and issues to supervisor
- Conducts operator level preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment according to the preventative maintenance schedule
- Keeps the work environment neat and clean
- Adds additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Forklift operating experience
- Associates degree or advanced training/certification in design, graphics, or operations preferred, but not required
- Advanced degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
- Basic analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
- Basic verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
- Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external clients
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
- Ability to work with and influence peers and management
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
- Ability to work overtime as necessary
