Material Handler
About the role
The Material Handler at Jtec is responsible for moving stock or other materials around the facility by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment. They inspect product loads for accuracy and safely move them around the warehouse or facility to ensure timely and complete delivery. Responsibilities also include loading or unloading materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices, or other transport vehicles, attaching identifying tags, performing routine maintenance on vehicles or auxiliary equipment, and keeping work stations swept and cleaned.
Responsibilities
- Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
- Inspect product load for accuracy and safely move it around the warehouse or facility to ensure timely and complete delivery.
- Manually or mechanically load or unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices, or other transport vehicles.
- Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information and ensure all internal loads have proper paperwork.
- Sort materials before moving.
- Perform routine maintenance on vehicles or auxiliary equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, recharging batteries, fueling, or replacing LP tanks.
- Keep the assigned work station swept and cleaned as necessary, keep clutter and trip hazards out of work areas.
Qualifications
- Education/Experience: 1-2 years fork lift experience.

Requirements
- Attention to Detail, Integrity, Cooperation.
- Duration of Typical Work Week: 40 hours/week, with potential for voluntary or mandatory weekday and/or weekend overtime due to production volumes.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and move 50 lb parts or fixtures, stoop, bend, and reach overhead to assemble and/or move products, work in a safety-sensitive role, and must be drug-free.
- Working Conditions: Frequent exposure to noises that may be distracting or uncomfortable, indoors, not environmentally controlled, wear common protective or safety equipment.
