Material Handler
About the role
Loads, unloads, and conveys materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, performing a combination of tasks under specific direction which may include shipping and/or receiving. Opens containers using hand tools; counts and weighs materials and records information. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, conveyors, and machines by hand; loads or unloads materials into or from trucks by hand. Conveys materials using wheelbarrow, hand truck, forklift, electric dolly, elevator, or other devices; stacks or assembles materials; aids machine operators by lifting heavy objects by hand or by use of power hoist.
The work address is 405 Heron Drive, Bridgeport NJ 08014, off-site warehouse.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, conveyors, and machines by hand
- Load or unload materials into or from trucks by hand
- Convey materials using wheelbarrow, hand truck, forklift, electric dolly, elevator, or other devices
- Stack or assemble materials
- Count and weigh materials and record information
- Open containers using hand tools
- Enter information into different databases for inventory management
- Aid machine operators by lifting heavy objects by hand or by use of power hoist
Requirements
- Good computer skills
- Ability to follow up (1-2 years experience)
- Create and maintain multiple agendas (1-2 years experience)
- Detail oriented (1-2 years experience)
- Team player (1-2 years experience)
- Intermediate MS Excel skills (1-2 years experience)
- Inventory management (1-2 years experience)
- Warehouse forklift operation (1-2 years experience)
Pay
$9.44 - $23.00 hourly
Overtime: 40 hours per week (non-exempt)
Schedule
4 days on, 10 hours per day (4/10), 1st shift
Additional Information
Opportunity for full-time employment hire.
Worker will work onsite full time.
Desired start date: 8/24/2026, end date: 1/31/2027.
