Material Handler

About the Role

The Material Handler participates with a positive attitude while working with fellow team members to ensure plant orderliness, cleanliness, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Listen and follow the direction of the plant supervisors
• Work alongside team leads to have up-to-date information on jobs needing preparation
• Follow work order instructions carefully regarding proper part numbers, quantities, and percentages required in the bill of materials for each job
• Offload material arriving from vendors
• Ensure materials are available and ready to reduce start-up time
• Ensure the yard is organized and free of obstructions
• Verify material type, thickness, and size
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Good reading and writing skills
• Good communication skills
• Good mathematical skills
• Previous forklift experience
• Ability to read a tape measure (calipers a plus)
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs

Pay

The hourly pay rate is $21/hr.
