MATERIAL HANDLER
About the role
We are seeking a Material Handler to support some of the most innovative, complex, and large-scale data center and mission-critical construction projects in the country. This role will be instrumental in delivering RMCI’s first-generation programs as a General Contractor within hyperscale and enterprise data center environments.
Responsibilities
- Fabrication & Assembly: Operate machinery (including but not limited to drilling/deburring hand tools, welders, cutters, grinders, hydraulic CNC equipment) to fabricate parts and assemble components according to specifications.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine the materials, dimensions, and procedures needed for fabrication.
- Quality Control: Inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet the required quality standards and specifications.
- Maintenance & Safety: Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Adhere to safety protocols and workplace standards.
- Material Handling: Prepare and organize materials needed for the fabrication process, including cutting and shaping metals, plastics, and composites.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure timely production and resolve any issues that arise during the fabrication process.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work orders, production schedules, and inventory usage.
- Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to fabrication processes, machinery, or materials.
- Perform jobsite housekeeping and general labor
- Perform other Prefab related duties and assignments as instructed by Supervisor
Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, instructional manuals and understand specifications
- Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic math skills for measuring, calculating dimensions, and material quantities.
- Proficiency in using fabrication tools and machinery
- Ability to lift heavy materials up to 50lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Comfort with handling tools and machinery.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn
- Ability to follow directions, both written and verbal
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, unassisted, frequently throughout the day
- Ability to stand or be on your feet for long periods of time
- Ability to do the following: bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, and repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers
Experience
Previous experience in a fabrication, manufacturing, or mechanical environment is preferred. Experience with welding, cutting, or machine operation is a plus.
Education & Certifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or training in fabrication or welding are advantageous.
