About the role
The Material Handler is responsible for two main functions: safely storing finished product pallets into bay locations in the warehouse using a forklift or clamp truck, and entering product into the inventory control system via Radio Frequency (R/F) scanning. This role also requires filling in for Warehouse Stackers during breaks, lunches, or absences.
Responsibilities
- Visually inspect the forklift at the beginning of each shift.
- Inspect hand-wrapped pallets of finished product for transfer into the warehouse.
- Transport product to the automated wrapper and secure it for storage.
- Scan the 9-digit barcode on boxes and transfer pallets into finished goods inventory using the R/F system.
- Physically transfer product to pre-assigned designated locations in the warehouse.
- Monitor the sortation line for case and pallet pull tags from production, transferring individual cases or full pallets to the requesting department or Quality Control Area.
- Update the R/F inventory system for all physical transactions.
- Maintain housekeeping duties, including removing damaged cases, sweeping, straightening pallets, and assisting with cleanliness at the sortation line.
- Adhere to plant and company safety practices, policies, and procedures.
Safe Quality Food Responsibilities
- Comply with all safety standards, remaining focused on safety throughout the shift and performing work safely without shortcuts.
- Report injuries immediately to a supervisor and any potential safety hazards observed.
- Comply with all quality standards by rejecting defective material, avoiding defects at the workstation, and reporting potential quality issues.
- Comply with all sanitation standards, practicing good housekeeping to maintain facility conditions.
Pay
$21.43 - $23.49 per hour
