About the Role
Under the direct supervision of the Team Leader Coach or designee, this role focuses on internal and external world-class customer service, facility security, and maintenance. The position ensures efficient and safe handling, processing, and movement of donated goods, quality control, and donor record accuracy to maximize profitability and increase training opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Ensure 100% donor and customer delight through open and honest communication.
- Promote and maintain a positive work environment following Goodwill’s Core Values and Guiding Principles.
- Uphold Goodwill’s zero tolerance for harassment, substance abuse, workplace violence, failure to report medical incidents, and theft.
- Facilitate the efficient movement of goods in the processing area, including loading/unloading trucks and trailers using material handling equipment.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and prudently, adhering to state laws and organizational safety policies.
- Assist at the donor door by greeting donors within 10 seconds, unloading donations, providing tax receipts, and maintaining accurate donation counts.
- Ensure stewardship of all donated items, preventing personal use and maintaining accurate donor tracking.
- Transport trash to compactor/dumpster and operate the compactor as needed.
- Adhere to all Goodwill and personnel policies, reporting safety hazards and injuries promptly.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and organized back room while ensuring donations are processed within 24 hours.
- Work with a sense of urgency to meet production count goals and follow Goodwill’s Guiding Principles for donation processing.
- Attend in-service and related training as assigned by the Team Leader Coach.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Leader Coach or Assistant Team Leader.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
- Strong listening skills to understand information and ideas presented verbally.
- Ability to work under general supervision.
Special Requirements
- Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Reliable means of transportation.
- This position is safety-sensitive and requires drug testing.
