About the role

The Material Handler is responsible for following standard material handling procedures including receiving, shipping, and warehousing activities while ensuring all tasks are completed in accordance with safety and quality standards. This role involves using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, tow trains, and electric pallet jacks to move materials efficiently. The position also requires recording material movements in transactional record systems, including receipts and bookings, while continuously identifying and proposing improvements to enhance safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage inbound material flow and monitor inbound delivery performance.
• Receive, inspect and store inbound deliveries.
• Prepare package and shipment.
• Perform reverse logistics and salvage activities.
• Locate stock and prepare stock for movement.
• Maintain inventory status.
• Perform physical inventory procedures.
• Work with recyclable material: moving bins, bailing boxes, breaking down plastics and other duties.
• Work on scrap metal materials: cutting metal with torches and other tools, separating the metal pieces, and organizing waste bins.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing / warehouse environment.
• 2+ years of forklifting experience.
• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder due to program security clearance requirements and/or SSA requirements.

Pay

The compensation range for this position is between $19.38 - $20.70 per hour.
