About the role
The primary responsibility of a Material Handler is to move, sort, and restock materials and items within a warehouse setting. Duties include loading and operating forklifts, packaging orders, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Responsibilities
- Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, or product code
- Restock material in assigned bin location; or fill requisitions for materials and distribute items to designated delivery trucks
- Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band bundles together; package orders for shipping, pick up or truck delivery
- Measure, cut and package material
- Complete Material Movement paperwork
- Open boxes, crates, and other containers
- Examine stock for deterioration and defects, and report findings
- Absorb physical inventory counts
- Inspect Raymond forklift daily for damages and report findings
- Load and operate Raymond forklifts; load trucks for next day deliveries
- Keep warehouse and work area organized at all times
- Comply with Company and OSHA policies; participate in safety and accident preventative meetings
- Wear safety equipment at all times
- Perform facilities maintenance duties as needed
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
Qualifications
- Experience with forklift operation
- Ability to read and interpret material handling documents
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy objects
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Knowledge of warehouse safety practices

Schedule
Full-time schedule is typically 40 hours per week.
