Material Handler

About the role

We are looking for a Material Handler for our Sanford, Florida facility. At Alstom, we offer the broadest portfolio in the transport industry, from high-speed trains to digital mobility solutions. Every day, our team connects cities while reducing carbon emissions and replacing cars.

Responsibilities

• Physically handle materials and compare them to invoice documentation.
• Identify materials, assign appropriate part numbers, and determine storage locations.
• Ensure damaged materials are identified and processed for return to vendors.
• Prepare reports of violations when necessary, including sufficient backup evidence to support agency attorneys in prosecution.
• Physically handle both loading and unloading of materials.
• Pull materials to create kits and deliver them to designated production work sites.
• Perform monthly cycle counts of inventory, identifying shortages and issues.
• Collaborate with inventory/receiving personnel to correct and report issues.
• Assist the mechanical department in obtaining proper parts while maintaining records of parts sent and received for repair.
• Complete all other assigned tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED).
• Valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles.
• Forklift certification.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a Warehouse or Material Handler role.
• Minimum of one year of experience working with the Microsoft Office suite in an office environment.
