Material Handler

About the role

Locate and deliver product parts to and from storage and work stations, assist in maintaining inventory levels, and contribute to a safe working environment as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production and distribution by pulling orders from inventory, delivering materials and supplies to and from storage and work stations, and identifying, labeling, and placing materials in stock.
• Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying items listed on production orders.
• Maintain in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
• Assist in compiling and maintaining inventory by documenting units delivered, verifying codes, lot numbers, quantities, and stock placement.
• Maintain a safe working environment by attending safety training, locking out equipment not in use, and keeping work areas clean, while adhering to ISO and FDA regulations.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed and handling other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills (high school diploma or equivalent).
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to follow instructions to read work orders and determine work assignments or material/equipment needs.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods (up to 66% of the day).
• Ability to become qualified to perform Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–2 years of experience.
