Material Handler

About the role
Handles the movement, tracking, and storage of materials and finished goods by operating equipment, loading/unloading pallets, verifying inventory, and performing labeling, inspections, and paperwork while maintaining safety, quality, and housekeeping standards. Includes work at heights using fall protection.
Responsibilities
- Lift and transfer material and product from supply pallets to line/cell pallets or staging areas.
- Count and verify material/product on pallets and log or scan information into the computer.
- Separate pallets with mixed parts onto individual pallets for storage or shipment.
- Load and unload tractor trailers of pallets using sit-down or standing powered industrial trucks.
- Attach identification and labels to product and materials.
- Lift and carry products and materials to fabrication, assembly cells, dock, and other areas.
- Work at heights of 20 to 40 feet above ground using fall-arrest gear.
- Operate and maintain the corrugated recycling station and overhead crane system.
- Perform inventory control procedures, paperwork, and computer work.
- Inspect all parts, orders, and equipment for quality and safety using checklists.
- Maintain personal and area safety, including general housekeeping duties.
- Perform similar or assigned duties as required within the department.
Requirements
- Operate powered industrial trucks (e.g., sit-down or standing forklifts).
- Pass vision exam (required for role).
- Perform basic math and scale operations.
- Ability to work at heights using fall protection equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) certification.
- Overhead crane operations certification.
