Material Handler - 2nd Shift

About the Role

The Materials Handler will perform tasks associated with the material handling process, including receiving materials, stocking, and inventory control, primarily using powered industrial trucks.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload raw materials from trailers; verify accuracy against PO and packing slip in WMS.
• Receive material deliveries, verify items and quantities to PO, and acquire proper paperwork.
• Efficiently move materials to and from point of use, ensuring product quality is maintained.
• Responsible for accurate takeaways or replacements of Kanban racks and empty racks.
• Ensure product is properly labeled with part number, name, and quantity; rotate stock as needed.
• Receive returned product; verify warranty status; update WMS; prepare product for disposal or return to stock.
• Maintain accurate inventory; conduct cycle counts; transfer product in WMS; investigate and resolve variances.
• Train other employees, maintain a clean and safe workspace, and perform other duties as assigned.
• Operate a company vehicle in accordance with established traffic and transportation procedures and laws.
• Communicate effectively with all departments and supervisors/leads.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 6-12 months of related experience and/or training required; 2-5 years preferred.
• Previous forklift experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.

Skills

• Skilled in the operation of powered industrial trucks, pallet jack, and tape gun.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work instructions, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Physical Requirements

This position is subject to Heavy Work: exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.

• Physical activities include climbing, balancing, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, talking, and hearing.
• Visual acuity is required to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment and to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.

Working Conditions

The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including heat, noise, vibration, and hazards from a production-based environment.
