Material Handler - 2nd Shift

About the role

The Material Handler role at Jelly Belly Candy Company is based in Fairfield. This position requires flexibility to work outside of core hours to support business operations, including working varying start times, end times, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Picks and stages raw materials at packaging lines returning unused raw materials to warehouse.
• Reports any discrepancies to the floor and/or the department supervisor.
• Conducts assigned work in a safe manner and adheres to all safety methods and GMP's.
• Aids in inventory reconciliation process.
• Maintains inventory control system by tracking, moving, and shipping the product using “SAP system” and/or Excel spreadsheet.
• Arranges and rotates stock in the warehouse.
• Picks candy mixes and rotates stock for candy mix pickers.
• Performs all other related duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three to five years related experience or nine months structured on-the-job training.
• Six to twelve months minimum stand-up forklift experience required.

Skills

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $31.77 per hour plus $1.00 per hour shift differential.

Schedule

Regular, predictable, full-time attendance is required as an essential function of this position. Overtime as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement is mandatory. An essential function of this job is a requirement to work all hours scheduled.
