Material Handler - 2nd Shift - $2 Shift Differential

About the role

The 2nd Shift Material Handler role at Pillar Innovations offers a 4/10 schedule (Monday-Thursday), a 30-minute paid lunch, and a $2/hour shift differential for evening hours. This role ensures smooth workflow by moving materials and managing storage areas.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming and outgoing shipments, verify materials against orders, and keep production stocked and ready.
• Use forklifts, motorized equipment, and overhead cranes to safely move and organize materials.
• Facilitate efficient and timely workflows by moving materials to and from various areas of the shop.
• Assist shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, and checking in merchandise.
• Prepare orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area.
• Organize and maintain storage and work areas for ease of access and product identification.
• Communicate with shop supervisors on needs in various areas of the shop, including material staging, consumables, and equipment.
• Complete and manage all required and relevant paperwork related to incoming materials, outgoing materials, and stocked materials.
• Unload incoming material deliveries, verifying the load ticket and physical material versus the purchase order.

Requirements

• 1-2 years previous warehouse experience preferred.
• Experience with moving material using motorized equipment such as fork lifts and overhead cranes required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Possess knowledge of metal plate types (steel, aluminum, stainless, galvanized, etc.), sizes, and shapes (beams, channels, angles, pipe, flat bar, etc.) preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• This position requires the completion of a thorough background and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.

Skills

• Basic measuring devices such as tape measures.
• Knowledge of metal plate types and their characteristics.
