Duties/Responsibilities
- Clock in upon arrival, also punch into material handling and clock out when leaving GF property.
- Must have a forklift license to safely operate a forklift truck.
- Daily safety check and a forklift checklist needs to be filled out completely and correctly.
- Able to understand Sales Orders, and Job Travelers.
- Knowledge and understanding of Customer Shipment Entry in Epicor software to see if skids can be combined or not and also enter the skid weight after the skids are wrapped.
- All skids packaged should match what is stated in our Customer Specification Book.
- Knowledge of why and how to reinforce skids when needed while safely using power tools and pneumatic tools.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Operate an electric or manual hand jack.
- Good oral communication skills.
- Self-motivated and interested in learning other positions.
- Good understanding of basic math skills (+, -, x, /).
- Able to accurately use a tape measure.
- Able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Must work well with others in a team atmosphere.
- Excellent attendance.
- Detail / Quality oriented.
- Work overtime when needed.
- Able to maintain a clean work area.
- Be a safety conscious individual who takes their time to do all duties properly and safely.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods standing, lifting, and being hunched over.
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
- Must be able to traverse facility on unforgiving surfaces.
- Must be able to work in hot and cold climates and in an environment with various noises.
Safety Requirements
- Must wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE): Safety Glasses must be worn while in the production areas.
- Must wear work appropriate apparel. No hoodies, open toe shoes or head/earphones.
- When driving the forklift, proper forklift safety rules must be used at all times.
- Must use proper lifting techniques.
- Must use proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) rules for mechanical issues.
- When using chemicals, must replace in original container and be labeled to identify the contents inside.
- Must make sure there is at least one person who knows where you are always in case of fire or natural disaster as part of the buddy system.
