Material Handler - 1st Shift (Starting $19+/hour)

Key Responsibilities

• Moves material around plant using a forklift and/or crane for producing, finishing, packaging, or shipping the customer product.
• Ensures areas are supplied with parts and removes finished skids to warehouse or paint line.
• Moves and stages material as scheduled for optimum efficiency.
• Provides machine support by emptying scrap tubs and ensuring lines are cleared of finished product.
• Packages finished product for shipment.
• Tracks orders and tags.
• Fulfills miscellaneous tasks throughout plant to ensure safe, efficient and quality production of materials.
• Picks parts from a picklist and delivers to production lines when scheduled.
• Performs scheduled tugger routes to production lines refilling bins with parts from a market.

Key Skills And Competencies

• Must be able to handle physical, repetitive work and be able to stand on your feet for 8-10 hrs a day.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Mechanical aptitude a plus, but not required.
• Comeptent in basic math and computer skills.
• Can operate banding tools.
• Read a tape measure.
• Must be able to handle small parts.
• Understand and follow the quality policy and procedures.
• Able to recognize quality issues and problems – detect defects.
• Understand English.
• Understand and follow detailed instructions on productions.
• Able to distinguish between part numbers and sizes.
• Able to count and label parts accurately.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Have good safety awareness and efficiency skills.
• Oral and written communication skills – including legible writing.

Education And Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Working Conditions/Other Work Hours/Status

• The 1st shift includes Monday - Thursday 5am – 3pm.
• The 2nd shift includes Monday - Thursday 3pm - 1am with a shift differential of $3.00/hr.
• The weekend shift includes Friday – Sunday 6am-6pm for a total of 36 hours and added weekend shift differential of $4.50/hr.
