About the role

Radial Solutions Inc. (RSi) is seeking a Material Expediter to support our NAS A customer on the Marshall Engineering Technicians and Trades Support (METTS) contract. This position involves preparing, arranging, and distributing materials and products in bulk and non-bulk forms, operating material-handling machinery, and managing inventory to support production and customer orders.

Responsibilities

  • Locate and move materials and parts between work areas using carts or hand trucks to expedite processing of goods.
  • Use pre-determined schedules and priorities to manage materials, keeping related records.
  • Review production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine types, quantities, and availability of required materials and customer order priorities.
  • Confer with department supervisors to address overdue materials and inform them of material location, availability, and condition.
  • Record quantity and type of materials distributed and on hand.
  • Direct Power-Truck Operators or Material Handling Laborers to expedite movement of materials between storage and production areas.
  • Compare work ticket specifications with materials at work stations to verify appropriateness.
  • Prepare worker production records and timecards.
  • Update and maintain inventory records using a computer terminal.
  • Operate or tend pipelines, pumps, and valves to transfer liquids.
  • Drive forklifts and related material-handling machinery and equipment.
  • Use scoops, hand trucks, and wheelbarrows to load and move materials.

Requirements

  • Experience with property/inventory management.
  • Experience with forklift operations.
  • Ability to lift up to twenty pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • May require walking, bending, climbing stairs, stooping, lifting, and navigating shop/machine work areas.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, or lift occasionally with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must meet eligibility for a Public Trust background investigation for government-issued credentials and IT access; must pass a security background check per Redstone Arsenal/MSFC requirements.
  • Must provide two (2) forms of Federal I9 documents and a REAL ID-compliant identification (original, unexpired, and name-matching).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience with NASA.

Work Environment

  • Environmentally controlled, heated, and cooled shop area subject to machinery noise.
  • Laboratory, test environments, test stands, and possible confined spaces.
  • Occasional outdoor work.

This position may require occasional overtime and may include second or third shift support for 24/7 onsite or on-call support based on customer needs and contract requirements.

Additional Information

  • All positions supporting the METTS III contract are contingent upon successful completion of NASA medical screenings at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter. The need for these screenings is determined based on the outcomes of the Safety, Health, and Environmental Job Assessment Questionnaire.
