Material Coordinator

This is an onsite position located in Dubuque, Iowa, with standard first-shift hours and potential overtime based on business needs. Client sponsorship is not available for this position, now or in the future.

About the role

This position supports production operations by coordinating the procurement, expediting, scheduling, and delivery of materials required for manufacturing activities. The Material Coordinator works closely with production, supply management, and cross-functional teams to ensure material availability, inventory accuracy, and uninterrupted production flow. This role requires strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the procurement, expediting, production, and delivery of materials to support manufacturing operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify material availability gaps and recommend effective solutions.
• Support production personnel by identifying, investigating, and resolving material shortages.
• Audit materials and inventory records to ensure accuracy and compliance with operational requirements.
• Resolve inventory discrepancies and coordinate expedited delivery of parts to prevent production interruptions.
• Monitor and manage critical shortage reports to ensure timely availability of required components and materials.
• Implement engineering release changes and support change management processes affecting material requirements.
• Manage deviations and make inventory or material adjustments as required to support production objectives.
• Analyze operational and inventory data to support informed business decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with production, supply management, engineering, and other business partners to maintain efficient material flow.
• Support operational goals by maintaining high levels of accuracy, responsiveness, and customer service for internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Management, Business Management, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and two to three years of related work experience may be considered.
• Experience in Supply Management, Manufacturing, Materials Planning, Inventory Control, or a related operational function.
• Two or more years of Supply Management or Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience supporting material flow and inventory management processes in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience analyzing information and data to support business decisions.

Pay

The typical base pay for this role is $25.68 per hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law.
