About the role
The Master Teacher will lead a quality program and lesson plans within the classroom, ensuring compliance with licensing and accreditation standards. They will oversee the teaching staff, manage daily classroom activities, and maintain a nurturing environment conducive to the growth and well-being of young children.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and train teaching staff, delegating tasks as necessary.
- Maintain classroom schedules, lesson plans, and daily routines.
- Implement and monitor developmental screenings and assessments.
- Guide children through daily routines, including meal times and rest periods.
- Document and report on child outcomes and health status.
- Maintain child-to-staff ratios and ensure safety and continuity of care.
- Attend staff meetings and required trainings.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Completed Level 3 training with a Master Teacher emphasis or equivalent.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Two (2) years of experience in early childhood settings.
- Knowledge of Child Care Development Fund, Department of Human Services Child Care Licensing, and related programs.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work with children and handle emergencies calmly.
- Positive interaction skills with Native families and children.
- Organizational and record-keeping abilities.
Qualifications
- Valid Oklahoma driver's license.
- Pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
- CPR/First Aid Certification.
- Food Handler’s Permit.
