Master Teacher

About the role

The Master Teacher will lead a quality program and lesson plans within the classroom, ensuring compliance with licensing and accreditation standards. They will oversee the teaching staff, manage daily classroom activities, and maintain a nurturing environment conducive to the growth and well-being of young children.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train teaching staff, delegating tasks as necessary.
• Maintain classroom schedules, lesson plans, and daily routines.
• Implement and monitor developmental screenings and assessments.
• Guide children through daily routines, including meal times and rest periods.
• Document and report on child outcomes and health status.
• Maintain child-to-staff ratios and ensure safety and continuity of care.
• Attend staff meetings and required trainings.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completed Level 3 training with a Master Teacher emphasis or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Two (2) years of experience in early childhood settings.
• Knowledge of Child Care Development Fund, Department of Human Services Child Care Licensing, and related programs.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work with children and handle emergencies calmly.
• Positive interaction skills with Native families and children.
• Organizational and record-keeping abilities.

Qualifications

• Valid Oklahoma driver's license.
• Pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
• CPR/First Aid Certification.
• Food Handler’s Permit.
