About the role
The Master Scheduler is responsible for reviewing customer requirements, entering and scheduling orders, and monitoring the overall status of the shop to report to relevant departments.
Responsibilities
- Run reports in the operating system to track production metrics and workload.
- Provide data and capacity vs. forecast suggestions to the Operations Manager.
- Review internal and customer requirements in the operating system.
- Create new jobs to meet internal and customer requirements.
- Schedule new jobs and reschedule existing jobs based on demand and forecast.
- Maintain minimum, maximum, and re-order points for forecasted parts quarterly.
- Provide acknowledgments for customer purchase orders (POs).
- Assign material requirements and dates for purchasing.
- Resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Update and maintain shop floor dispatch.
- Communicate late routings and provide late estimates.
- Host the daily production meeting.
- Follow verbal instructions and internal procedures.
- Maintain high aesthetic standards for manufactured parts and the internal environment.
- Clean and maintain the cleanliness of the work area.
- Maintain constant communication with the Supervisor about job progress.
- Ensure regular and reliable attendance.
Requirements
- Successfully complete a criminal background check.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Flexibility to work overtime or extended hours as business needs dictate.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Scheduling role for a related industry.
- Knowledge of supply chains in a related industry.
- Knowledge of manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of Material Planning systems.
- Knowledge of JobBoss operating system (a plus).
- Knowledge of the purchasing process (a plus).
- Knowledge of machining (a plus).
- Experience and proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Associate’s degree in a related discipline is strongly preferred.
