About the Role
The Master Scheduler is responsible for creating a high-level production plan that outlines requirements, quantities, and timelines. This role oversees the Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) process within technology clusters to ensure product availability meets customer demand by optimizing resources, minimizing disruptions, and managing inventory levels. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Director, Supply Chain.
Responsibilities
- Analyze demand and supply at the item, customer, and master schedule levels; determine out-of-balance conditions, identify alternatives, and recommend actions for approval.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and manufacturing to understand and reduce internal and customer lead-times.
- Conduct rough-cut capacity planning prior to publishing the master schedule to ensure alignment with SI&OP commitments.
- Oversee S&OE commitments within sites to ensure efficient detailed scheduling and utilization of capacity.
- Identify, negotiate, and resolve conflicts related to material and capacity availability and order-promising integrity across the manufacturing network.
- Create a master schedule that satisfies customer demand while leveling workload, optimizing inventory levels, and resource utilization.
- Maintain scheduling parameters, such as lead-times, lot sizes, and cycle times.
- Monitor schedule implementation, evaluate success, and assess and mitigate risks that may impact the schedule.
- Proactively identify potential scheduling conflicts or bottlenecks and work with relevant departments to resolve them.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Purchasing, Engineering, Product Management, Quality, and Sales teams to ensure the schedule is realistic and aligns with overall business objectives.
- Evaluate and adjust schedules to account for inventories and capacity constraints.
- Communicate schedule changes to corresponding stakeholders as they occur.
- Review upcoming projects for complexity, special build requirements, line and capacity needs, and manpower allocation.
- Identify areas for process improvement within the scheduling function and implement changes to meet stated lead times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supply Chain Leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or business management.
- 7+ years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, and/or forecasting in the chemical or retail industry.
- APICS certification is a plus.
Skills
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending English.
- Strong math skills, including the ability to work with fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs and SAP.
- Ability to develop process expertise to facilitate troubleshooting.
