About the role
Conduct preventive maintenance and rebuild equipment as necessary. Troubleshoot and repair equipment to ensure all refrigeration equipment functions safely and optimally. Monitor and record operational readings, reporting any unresolved discrepancies immediately to the Refrigeration Lead or Supervisor. Train lower classification technicians.
Pay Rate: $44.25 per hour
Requirements
- Minimum three (5) years of on-the-job experience in industrial refrigeration, preferably with two-stage ammonia systems
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Trained First Responder – Level A suit qualified
- Trained Haz-Mat responder at 40-hour level
- Certified in Confined Space training
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Trained in lock-out tag-out and safe work practices
- Proven ability to understand refrigeration blueprints, PHAs, SOPs, and knowledge of completion of MOCs as certified by Maintenance Management
- Ability to interpret and identify valves and equipment using P&IDs
- Proven experience in ammonia system pump-downs and repairs
- Ability to monitor and identify abnormal operating pressures, temperatures, and conditions within the refrigeration system and make necessary adjustments or repairs
- Proven knowledge of chemical testing for cooling towers and ammonia system contaminants
- Proven knowledge of air compressor systems as certified by Maintenance Management
- Certified at the Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator (CARO) level by RETA
- Proven knowledge of refrigeration electrical control system troubleshooting as certified by in-house Electrical Technician
- Proven knowledge including theory, operation, and troubleshooting of two-stage ammonia systems
- Ability to bend, stoop, walk, and stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to climb and work from ladders and in confined spaces safely
- Ability to work from high altitudes, catwalks, and roofs
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds
- Ability to work on wet concrete floors
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and times dictated by production equipment requirements
- Ability to submit and pass a criminal background check
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems and EPA 608 Type II and III or Universal certification
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
