Mason
About the role
The Mason performs all work involving masonry, including brick laying, concrete work inside and outside, laying marble, plastering, and other related assignments. Builds stone structures such as walls, abutments, or lays curbstones, walks or special types of masonry such as alberene. Shapes stone preparatory to setting, using chisel, hammer, and other shaping tools. Spreads mortar over stone and foundation with trowel and sets stone in place by hand or with the aid of a hoist. Aligns stone with plumbing and finishes joints between stone with pointing trowel. Insures uniform thickness of joints by spreading mortar along mortar guides. Sets heavy equipment in cement when necessary. Performs routine and preventive maintenance on all equipment within assigned shop or area. Maintains mechanical rooms in the shop. Cooperates with team members to resolve maintenance problems within the shop or area in an efficient and timely manner. Maintains effective communications with team members, Floor Mechanics, Zone Leaders and System Leaders to ensure prompt response to requests for repairs.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three to five years prior related masonry experience
- Ability to construct drywall partition and apply tape
- Ability to use masonry power tools

$54.50-$65.40/Hourly
