Masker III

About the role

The Masker III performs operations to prepare substrates for Parylene coating, including cleaning, surface preparation, and masking. After the coating process, the role involves demasking, inspection, and packaging as required by specific product processes. The Masker III is skilled in masking and demasking highly complex products with precision and quality, and provides training and coaching to Masker I and II. The role may also include shipping, receiving, fixture refurbishing, and other related duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Follow designated processes, work instructions, Manufacturing Standard Procedures (MSPs), and other written or verbal instructions.
• Perform cleaning and preparation of customer products for masking and/or coating using basic techniques.
• Execute advanced masking, demasking, and inspection tasks using specified methods, small hand and power tools, microscopes, and other support equipment, particularly for complex, custom projects with difficult geometry.
• Inspect own work for quality compliance and provide guidance, training, and coaching to Masker I and II, including checking their work and offering retraining as needed.
• Comply with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) handling requirements when applicable.
• Collaborate with the Production Coordinator, Production Supervisor, or Coating Center Manager to ensure continuous production flow, meeting customer schedules, quality specifications, and productivity goals.
• Participate in implementing preventative and corrective actions for process improvements and solicit ideas from maskers to enhance masking efficiency or quality.
• Work on special assignments, complex masking jobs, and new customer orders or processes.
• Collaborate with the Application Engineer to develop or revise masking operations on customer products.
• Maintain high levels of punctuality and attendance.
• Support Non-Conforming Material Reports (NCMRs) as needed.
• Make recommendations to promote safety and improve processes.
• Operate precision measuring instruments and record results.
• Maintain a high level of personal hygiene.
• Monitor chemical baths, verifying correct solution formulas and chemical balance, and correct the balance if necessary.
