About the role
Based in Huntington Park, CA, the Masker will perform essential job functions as directed under close supervision. This position is safety-sensitive due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market. The role is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and requires performing duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
This position allows for cross-training and development of additional skills.
Responsibilities
- Accurately prepares work for selective copper plate by masking areas to be heat treated with nylon tape and/or stop-off compounds.
- Reads and determines work instructions.
- Immediately brings any unusual problem, irregularity, or concern to the Heat Treater, Foreman/Lead Person, or management.
- Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
- Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
- Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
- Demonstrates attention to detail, particularly when painting with small brushes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of basic math.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements: candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
- May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
Physical & Mental Demands
- Ability to work in a sitting position for extended periods in an industrial environment.
- Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity.
- Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Pay
The hourly pay for this position is $18.50 per hour. Starting pay is determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with state and federal law. Additional compensation may include shift differential, if applicable.
