About The Role

Orange County SC is looking for a high-energy, creative, and fan-focused individual to bring their mascot, Gnarly, to life. As the face of the club’s community engagement, the Mascot Performer will entertain fans, represent the team at events, and help strengthen OCSC’s connection with the Orange County community. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in front of crowds and loves creating memorable experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead mascot performer for all OCSC home games and community appearances
• Develop and expand programs that enhance Gnarly’s presence as a positive ambassador for the club
• Maintain and grow annual appearances where Gnarly’s participation is highly anticipated
• Create and execute revenue-generating opportunities such as in-seat visits, holiday deliveries, and special appearances
• Create and perform engaging in-game skits and crowd interactions to elevate the matchday experience
• Maintain mascot costumes, props, and accessories through regular cleaning and repairs
• Attend departmental, full-staff, and game-day meetings as required
• Support team functions outside of the costume when needed
• Collaborate with the Street Team and Sales Team for community and media appearances

Qualifications

• Required to be available for all Orange County SC home games
• Must be available 20 hours a week
• Ability to perform in a mascot costume for extended periods during games, events, and media shoots
• Prior mascot experience preferred; background in acting, dance, acrobatics, or stunt performance is a plus
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Self-motivated, creative, and enthusiastic with a strong sense of initiative
• Flexible schedule — must be available for nights, weekends, and holidays
• Outgoing, fan-friendly personality with excellent communication skills
• Comfortable working with children and diverse audiences
• Physically fit and energetic; able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must be at least 5'6" in height to fit the mascot costume requirements
• Must be local to Orange County
