Marketplace Enrollment Specialist

Job Duties

• Screens/enrolls/community members in financial programs including, but not limited to OWCHC, State, Local and Federal programs, specifically the Health Insurance Marketplace.
• Aids patients and community members in understanding and completing the enrollment process through the Health Insurance Marketplace exchanges.
• Discusses treatment plans and costs with the patient and helps create a payment plan that adheres to the billing office's policies if necessary.
• Collaborates with all office staff to establish a comprehensive financial plan for the patient.
• Eliminates barriers, increases awareness, and motivates patients and non-OneWorld patients to enroll in coverage.
• Implements outreach and education techniques to enhance understanding of available health insurance options and other eligible programs.
• Maintains a caseload of patients as guided by program-specific guidelines.
• Coordinates referrals and follow-up appointments for patients.
• Provides intake on clients as directed during clinic sessions (internal financial programs, Medicaid, Marketplace, etc.).
• Interprets OneWorld Community Health Centers and other agency activities, policies, and services for clients.
• Makes and coordinates appointments in OneWorld clinics and specialty clinics.
• Educates and works with families to prevent denials due to missing documentation for approval.
• Assists in new-hire training and orientation for the EFS department.
• Inform patients about billing and collection policies, including payment plans, bad debt, reclassifications, and other revenue-generating duties.
