Marketing Specialist, Request for Proposals
for section headings. Use - for any list of duties/requirements/benefits, and
for prose.
We need to preserve all substantive information; do not invent or summarize away detail. So we need to include each bullet point exactly as given (maybe rephrase? but must preserve detail). We can keep the same wording.
We need to avoid duplication. There's some duplication later about benefits repeated; we should include only once.
We need to remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. So we cut out the later paragraphs about SEI being equal opportunity employer, AI Acceptable Use, etc.
Now structure:
About the role

- Maintain an understanding of SEI’s solutions.
- Consistently apply SEI’s brand and style to all projects.
- Work alongside senior team members on complex issues, larger opportunities / projects, or analyses.

- A minimum of 2 years of experience in proposal development, writing, project management, or similar.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Copilot
- Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously to successful completion.
- Innovative mindset, continuously striving for excellence and improvement.
Qualifications
- Solid comprehension of SEI's businesses and/or the financial services industry, and ability to incorporate that knowledge to impact project outcomes.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively across different levels of the organization.
- Familiarity with RFP software, RocketDocs preferred.
Optionally we could have Skills section for proficiency in tools, but we already have proficiency in Requirements. Could separate Skills: maybe "Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Copilot" and "Familiarity with RFP software, RocketDocs". But we already have them. The instruction: Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones. So we could combine skills into Requirements or Qualifications. But we have separate sections for Requirements and Qualifications; that's okay.
We need Benefits section:
Benefits
- Comprehensive care for physical and mental well-being
- Strong retirement plan
- Tuition reimbursement
- Support for working parents
- Flexible Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Healthcare (medical, dental, vision, prescription, wellness, EAP, FSA)
- Life and disability insurance (premiums paid for base coverage)
- 401(k) match
- Education assistance
- Commuter benefits
- Up to 11 paid holidays/year
- 21 days PTO/year pro-rated for new hires which increases over time
- Paid parental leave
- Back-up childcare arrangements
- Paid volunteer days
- Discounted stock purchase plan
- Investment options
- Access to thriving employee networks
We need to ensure we didn't miss any substantive info: The paragraph about "To help you stay energized..." we turned into bullet items; we might lose the introductory sentence. Could keep a before list: "To help you stay energized, engaged and inspired, we offer a wide range of benefits including..." then list. That preserves the prose. Let's do that.
Thus Benefits section:
Benefits
To help you stay energized, engaged and inspired, we offer a wide range of benefits including comprehensive care for your physical and mental well-being, a strong retirement plan, tuition reimbursement, support for working parents and flexible Paid Time Off (PTO) so you can relax, recharge and be there for the people you care about.
- Healthcare (medical, dental, vision, prescription, wellness, EAP, FSA)
- Life and disability insurance (premiums paid for base coverage)
- 401(k) match
- Education assistance
- Commuter benefits
- Up to 11 paid holidays/year
- 21 days PTO/year pro-rated for new hires which increases over time
- Paid parental leave
- Back-up childcare arrangements
- Paid volunteer days
- Discounted stock purchase plan
- Investment options
- Access to thriving employee networks
Now ensure no duplicate content: we removed the repeated benefits later.
Check for any other substantive info: The paragraph about "We are a technology and asset management company delivering on our promise of building brave futures (SM)—for our clients, our communities, and ourselves. Come build your brave future at SEI." That's marketing fluff but substantive? It's about company description. Might be considered boilerplate? It's not EEO, but it's generic marketing. The instruction: Remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. This is not explicitly listed; but it's somewhat promotional. However it's substantive about company. Might keep? The instruction says preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail. So we should keep that description if it's substantive. However it's somewhat generic but still part of posting. Could include as part of About the role or a separate section like "About SEI". But we only have predefined headings; we could add a paragraph under About the role. The About the role currently has a short paragraph; we could extend it with that company description.
Let's incorporate: After the initial role description, add: "We are a technology and asset management company delivering on our promise of building brave futures (SM)—for our clients, our communities, and ourselves. Come build your brave future at SEI."
Thus About the role paragraph becomes longer.
Now check for any other substantive info: The line "The position title reflected in this job description is aligned with SEI's current internal job architecture..." that's internal HR metadata; likely boilerplate to remove. The line "As part of SEI's role and career framework, internal job titles may not directly correspond to external market titles..." also boilerplate. Remove.
The line "SEI is an Equal Opportunity Employer and so much more… After over 50 years in business..." that's EEO boilerplate; remove.
The line "We recognize that our people are our most valuable asset..." also generic but could be considered substantive? It's about valuing employees; but it's somewhat generic. Might be considered boilerplate? The instruction says remove EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate. This is not EEO but still generic. Might keep? Safer to keep if it's substantive about culture. However it's somewhat fluff. I'd lean to keep it as part of About SEI? But we don't have a section for that. Could incorporate into Benefits or About the role? Might be okay to keep as a brief paragraph under About the role after company description.
But to be safe, I'd keep the company description and maybe the "We recognize that our people are our most valuable asset..." as it's about culture and benefits. However we already have Benefits section; that sentence is more about culture. Could add a short paragraph under Benefits after the list? Or under About the role.
Given the instruction to prefer few substantive sections, we can add a paragraph under About the role that includes both the role impact and company description and culture statement.
Let's craft About the role:
