Marketing Specialist

About the role

The Marketing Specialist supports the planning, developing, and implementing of marketing strategies and activities for energy efficiency efforts with utility and government clients in Illinois. The role involves helping clients and communities save energy and money through various marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement marketing and communications plans to educate customers about energy efficiency and drive participation in programs.
• Create and update marketing materials such as website content, direct mailers, email communications, brochures, testimonials, technical fact sheets, incentive applications, and more.
• Write and route email campaigns for residential or business offerings, and review materials for accuracy and compliance before client approval.
• Write initial drafts of copy for utility partners and ensure brand guidelines and standards are met.
• Support outreach to Program Allies or community partners and monitor campaign results.
• Prepare weekly project statuses for internal and external teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, or related field from an accredited college, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of experience in marketing, advertising, public relations, or consulting environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Skilled at cross-functional communication and a team player.
• Demonstrated experience representing diverse cultures in marketing projects and campaigns.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.
• Experience with copywriting, editing, and proofreading is preferred.
• Up to 10% travel required, including evenings and weekends.

Pay and Benefits
