Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Affords assistance in coordinating and sustaining all facets of internal and external communications, encompassing news media relations, various print and electronic publications, website management, digital marketing, and social media initiatives.
  • Assists in managing the College’s website, its news section, and athletics website.
  • Participates in the planning, coordination, and execution of the College’s marketing, advertising, public relations, and community relations programs to align with the College’s goals and mission.
  • Collaborates with the marketing team to produce multimedia presentations that incorporate audio, video, and still photography for online platforms like websites and social media.
  • Engages in the establishment, nurturing, and upkeep of positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Schedules and coordinates photo shoots, selects appropriate images for college publications and social media channels, and assists in composing correspondence, media messages, articles, press releases, announcements, presentations, and other oral and written communications to fulfill the College’s outreach objectives.
  • Supports the implementation of marketing strategies and coordinates College events.
  • Assists in developing scripts for television, radio, and internet advertisements, and contributes to community and alumni relations efforts.
  • Attends the workplace regularly, arrives at work on time, and adheres to a work schedule to meet the demands of the workplace.
  • Completes assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with college standards, policies, and guidelines, utilizing interpersonal skills and making sound judgments to guide the completion of tasks among coworkers, supervisors, faculty, staff, students, and customers.
  • Completes all necessary training and professional development sessions provided by Texas Southmost College (TSC).
  • Supports the College’s values and institutional goals as outlined in the Strategic Plan.
  • Work schedules may include evenings, holidays, or weekends based on deadlines and special events.
  • Reports directly to the Executive Director of Marketing.

Physical Demands

  • The employee is frequently required to stand.
  • The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, and taste or smell.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
