Marketing Specialist

About the role

The Industry Specialist executes tactical marketing deliverables (market penetration, segmentation, and effective EVE tools and launch packages) and assists with platform/product definition for Avient's products and positioning with little to no direction required based on 3-5 years prior relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Delivers profitable growth by achieving gross margin targets as a percentage of sales, expanding gross margin percentage, growing vitality index, meeting vitality GM targets, and launching new products.
• Leverages key tools like situational analysis, sales & marketing plans, the POL process, EVE tools, the pricing quote tool, marcom resources, effective product launch kits, etc., to engage customers and the business.
• Tracks and measures key market trends, competitive positions, and delivers on specialization strategy by identifying new ideas and opportunities for growth.
• Generates sales campaigns, advertising programs, and technical literature; monitors gross margins and profitability against control standards; implements marketing goals; develops technical literature, advertising campaigns, definitions, specifications, and performance standards; develops and coordinates product promotion, technical presentations, and advertising through marketing staff and Marketing Communications.
• Identifies new market developments for current or prospective programs and penetrates existing markets through market research and analyses.
• Maintains continuous technical support for customers and Avient sales personnel through up-to-date product application technology, training, and problem solving.
• Develops contacts with major customers and suppliers; conducts sales calls to maintain customer contact, promote sales efforts, evaluate market trends, and develop business at target accounts.
• Provides direction and training in Business Unit/Company/Corporate wide marketing training programs; works closely with Environmental Health & Safety to ensure products meet local, state, and federal/country regulations.
• Attends various trade/organization functions to develop business contacts and gather market information; supports and commits to Avient's LSS improvement process.
• Plans strategies to ensure error-free work and conveys this attitude in the daily performance of various duties; coordinates, supports, and participates in the POL process and the situational analysis system; assists in creating value propositions for the industry, focusing on the customer and ensuring product quality and consistency.
• Communicates marketing activities to regional sales team, customer service, global partners, and manufacturing to ensure smooth transition of strategy to action; holds conversations with R&D and partners to set direction for Avient; takes customer and market trends, feedback, and opportunities to create technology focus; owns key linkage between customer, business, and technology; assists with the development and planning of the industry approach, modeling, and marketing communication(s); drives measurement and tracking activities including market size, market share, and ROI.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications: 3-5 years of relevant experience in marketing, preferably within the materials industry. Strong understanding of market trends, competitive analysis, and product launch strategies. Proficiency in using marketing tools and software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
