About the role
The Marketing Specialist, Advisor Branding is responsible for guiding the brand development process for new Advisors, from marketing kickoff through the full development phase. This role requires experience in brand, creative, or marketing with a focus on client relationships and producing Advisor-differentiated copy.
Responsibilities
- Lead brand discovery process for every new Advisor, establishing their voice, positioning, niche, values, and visual direction before any creative work begins.
- Develop a clear brand brief for each Advisor that drives every creative decision that follows.
- Guide Advisors through the brand development process with clarity and confidence, helping them articulate their unique value proposition.
- Identify each Advisor's Ideal Client Profile during discovery and use it to inform messaging, copy, and visual direction throughout onboarding.
- Review all creative deliverables from the external creative partner against the Advisor's brand brief before anything reaches the Advisor.
- Evaluate brand concepts with a trained design eye, providing structured, specific creative feedback that references the brief and advances the work.
- Enforce RFG brand isolation standards, ensuring no visual identifiers, color systems, or creative elements are shared across Advisor firms.
- Use AI writing tools to produce first-draft Advisor copy across all onboarding deliverables, including website copy, bios, service descriptions, social profiles, and campaign content.
- Edit and refine AI-generated drafts with a sharp editorial eye, ensuring the output reads as written by someone who knows their story.
- Develop AI workflows that reduce time from site visit to first draft to under 48 hours for standard onboarding deliverables.
- Own the full Advisor marketing onboarding lifecycle from kickoff through Primetime launch, serving as the Advisor's primary point of contact for brand, creative, and marketing throughout.
- Manage onboarding timelines against each Advisor's Primetime date, maintaining an accurate onboarding tracker and delivering weekly status updates to the Senior Director.
- Conduct a pre-Primetime readiness check before launch, confirming all platforms, brand assets, and compliance approvals are in place.
- Coordinate website build and content workflows with the development partner, delivering a complete package of brand assets, approved copy, photography, and credentials before the build begins.
- Build and submit email signatures, set up and configure all required social media profiles in accordance with RFG compliance guidelines, and serve as the primary day-to-day contact for the external creative and website development partners.
- Track vendor deliverable schedules and escalate delays to the Senior Director before a Primetime date is at risk.
- Ensure all Advisor-facing marketing materials meet SEC Rule 206(4)-1 and applicable FINRA standards before submission to compliance review.
- Submit materials with complete supporting documentation including Advisor approval confirmation and brand approval record.
- Build compliance review time into every onboarding timeline, ensuring no Primetime date is set without confirming compliance review is accounted for.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in brand, creative, or marketing, ideally in an account management or client-facing role at a creative or brand agency.
- Demonstrated experience owning a client relationship end-to-end: translating business needs into creative direction, managing production, and delivering a finished brand or campaign.
- Strong writing and editorial skills; able to produce clean, Advisor-differentiated copy and recognize the difference between generic financial services language and a brand voice that actually sounds like someone.
- Experience managing concurrent projects against fixed deadlines across multiple clients or accounts.
Skills & Competencies
- Genuine design sensibility; able to evaluate a brand system and articulate clearly whether it is working, why, and what needs to change.
- Fluency with design fundamentals: color theory, typography, visual hierarchy, logo mark evaluation, and how brand systems translate across applications.
- Confident communicator who can hold a brand conversation with an Advisor, give direct feedback to a vendor, and escalate to a senior leader with context and a recommendation.
- Ownership mentality; surfaces problems with recommended solutions, builds structure where there is none, and leaves the function better than they found it.
- Thrives in a lean, fast-moving environment where priorities shift and the quality bar stays constant.
Technology & Tools
- Demonstrated, working proficiency with AI writing tools as a core production tool; able to build effective prompts that produce differentiated, on-voice copy output.
- Proficiency with design and layout software; able to work within brand guidelines and evaluate agency output with confidence.
- Experience with project tracking, CRM, content management, and file-sharing platforms.
- Proficiency with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot to improve productivity, creative workflows, and onboarding efficiency.
