About the role
The Marketing Specialist, Advisor Branding is responsible for guiding new Advisors through the brand development process, from initial discovery to final launch. This role requires a strong understanding of brand strategy, creative direction, and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead the brand discovery process for each new Advisor, establishing their voice, positioning, niche, values, and visual direction.
- Develop a clear brand brief for each Advisor that drives every creative decision.
- Guide Advisors through the brand development process with clarity and confidence, ensuring they understand the importance of their brand identity.
- Identify each Advisor's Ideal Client Profile and use it to inform messaging, copy, and visual direction throughout onboarding.
- Review all creative deliverables from the external creative partner against the Advisor's brand brief before anything reaches the Advisor.
- Evaluate brand concepts with a trained design eye, providing structured, specific creative feedback that references the brief and advances the work.
- Use AI-assisted copywriting tools to produce first-draft Advisor copy across all onboarding deliverables, including website copy, bios, service descriptions, social profiles, and campaign content.
- Edit and refine AI-generated drafts with a sharp editorial eye, ensuring the output reads as written by someone who knows their story.
- Manage onboarding timelines against each Advisor's Primetime date, maintaining an accurate onboarding tracker and delivering weekly status updates to the Senior Director.
- Own the full Advisor marketing onboarding lifecycle from kickoff through Primetime launch, serving as the Advisor's primary point of contact for brand, creative, and marketing throughout.
- Coordinate website build and content workflows with the development partner, delivering a complete package of brand assets, approved copy, photography, and credentials before the build begins.
- Build and submit email signatures, set up and configure all required social media profiles in accordance with RFG compliance guidelines, and serve as the primary day-to-day contact for the external creative and website development partners.
- Track vendor deliverable schedules and escalate delays to the Senior Director before a Primetime date is at risk.
- Ensure all Advisor-facing marketing materials meet SEC Rule 206(4)-1 and applicable FINRA standards before submission to compliance review.
- Submit materials with complete supporting documentation, including Advisor approval confirmation and brand approval record.
- Build compliance review time into every onboarding timeline, ensuring no Primetime date is set without confirming compliance review is accounted for.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in brand, creative, or marketing, ideally in an account management or client-facing role at a creative or brand agency.
- Demonstrated experience owning a client relationship end-to-end: translating business needs into creative direction, managing production, and delivering a finished brand or campaign.
- Strong writing and editorial skills; able to produce clean, Advisor-differentiated copy and recognize the difference between generic financial services language and a brand voice that actually sounds like someone.
- Experience managing concurrent projects against fixed deadlines across multiple clients or accounts.
Skills & Competencies
- Genuine design sensibility; able to evaluate a brand system and articulate clearly whether it is working, why, and what needs to change.
- Fluency with design fundamentals: color theory, typography, visual hierarchy, logo mark evaluation, and how brand systems translate across applications.
- Confident communicator who can hold a brand conversation with an Advisor, give direct feedback to a vendor, and escalate to a senior leader with context and a recommendation.
- Ownership mentality; surfaces problems with recommended solutions, builds structure where there is none, and leaves the function better than they found it.
- Thrives in a lean, fast-moving environment where priorities shift and the quality bar stays constant.
