Job Summary

The Marketing & Social Media Coordinator is responsible for creating and executing a social media strategy that showcases the Barça Residency Academy experience across digital platforms. This role involves capturing and producing high-quality content, collaborating with coaches and student-athletes, and maintaining a consistent brand voice.

Responsibilities

  • Capture and produce high-quality photo and video content showcasing gamedays, training sessions, campus life, and behind-the-scenes moments.
  • Deliver comprehensive gameday coverage for assigned matches and tournaments, including live social media updates, post-match content, and written recaps.
  • Edit and produce engaging short-form video content, including trending concepts, game highlights, player features, promotional videos, testimonials, hype reels, and other branded storytelling assets.
  • Create graphics, captions, and motion assets that reflect the Academy's brand voice and visual standards.
  • Maintain an organized digital asset library, including photos, videos, graphic templates, and campaign files.
  • Execute the Academy's content calendar and social media strategy across all core platforms.
  • Stay current on social media trends and leverage emerging content formats, sounds, platform features, and best practices.
  • Monitor social media performance, audience insights, and platform analytics to optimize content strategy and drive audience growth.
  • Proactively anticipate content needs while managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines, including same-day turnaround requests.
  • Collaborate with coaches, student-athletes, and internal departments to identify and tell compelling stories that showcase the Barça Residency Academy experience.
  • Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all social media channels.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to support digital marketing campaigns and broader marketing initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Marketing Department and Academy initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of soccer and sports culture.
  • Proficiency in photography, videography, editing, and digital content creation.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.) and short-form video editing software.
  • Experience creating, managing, and publishing content across major social media platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning, organization, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Creative thinker with strong storytelling, visual communication, and content ideation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, student-athletes, and cross-functional departments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Google Workspace.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying and extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed for matches, tournaments, and Academy events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Sports Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience working in athletics, youth sports, or a sports-related organization.
  • Experience with DSLR/mirrorless photography and videography equipment.
  • Experience with photo and video editing, and graphics building.
  • Experience managing multiple social media accounts for a brand or organization.
  • Passion for sports and content creation.
