About the role

This position is responsible for working with Arizona’s 15 county programs to recruit CASA volunteer applicants and improve volunteer retention. This is accomplished through CASA of Arizona marketing initiatives and support of local program communications, media relations, community outreach and related recruitment efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with county CASA programs to develop and maintain comprehensive diversity, recruitment, and retention plans
  • Develop, update, and analyze marketing and communication goals outlined in the state office strategic plan
  • Aid county offices with local marketing and media plans
  • Create and distribute information pamphlets, brochures, press releases, and audio-visual programs
  • Produce organizational communications including quarterly newsletters, social media content, news releases, and marketing materials
  • Work closely with local print and electronic media on CASA-related news stories, editorials, and other issues
  • Act as a liaison to the community and various stakeholders
  • Travel statewide and participate in outreach events and assist with county outreach programs
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with court personnel, state and county agencies, national organizations, and the general public
  • Perform surveys and assessments of CASA satisfaction and marketing program effectiveness, and make recommendations for changes
  • Act as liaison with external printers and other vendors
  • Participate as a member of community group planning efforts
  • Assist with recruiting efforts for the Foster Care Review Board

Requirements

  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field, with a minimum of three years’ of responsible community relations, marketing, or media and public relations experience
  • Directly related experience may substitute for the degree requirement
  • Superior verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and group communication skills
  • The ability to effectively work with others at many different levels of an organization
  • Professional experience applying principles of public relations and marketing
  • Excellent project management experience and the ability to direct several projects simultaneously
  • The ability to develop and implement a comprehensive community outreach program

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the Arizona Judiciary, court operations and structure
  • Experience working with print and electronic media
  • Desktop publishing software knowledge
  • Knowledge of strategic social media planning is preferred
