Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions
- Support full-time Marketing Event Planners with the setup, execution, and breakdown of admissions-focused events
- Aid with event logistics, including room setup, moving materials/equipment, signage placement, and event tear-down
- Manage day-of event operations such as guest check-in, directional assistance, crowd flow, and hospitality
- Create a welcoming and positive experience for prospective students, families, school staff, and visitors while representing GCU in a professional and enthusiastic manner
- Serve as event hosts for visiting school groups when needed, helping guide groups and maintain engagement throughout the visit
- Communicate effectively with Admissions Counselors, event staff, and other university partners to ensure smooth event execution
- Anticipate event needs and proactively assist with problem-solving in fast-paced environments
- Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Outgoing, friendly, and comfortable engaging with large groups and one-on-one interactions
- Strong work ethic with willingness to perform hands-on, physically active event work
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow through on responsibilities
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and an eye for event presentation
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and do what is needed to support the team
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Equipment Used And Responsibility
- Cell phone for communication through GroupMe and When I Work
- Event materials and equipment including signage, check-in supplies, tables, carts, and promotional materials
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license
Experience/Education
- Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program
- Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student
- Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University
