About the Role

The Reston Chorale is a non-profit arts organization in Fairfax County. The mission of The Reston Chorale is to promote community interest and participation in, and enjoyment of, choral music. We are seeking a creative marketing manager who can support us in increasing audience attendance, strengthening community awareness, and improving donor engagement.

The Marketing Manager role leads the organization’s marketing and communications efforts across digital, print, media, and community channels while working closely with other board members and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement annual and concert-specific marketing plans, with support and input from the Managing Director and marketing committee.
  • Implement campaigns to increase ticket sales and community visibility.
  • Create and oversee a marketing committee, if applicable.

Digital Marketing

  • Work directly with the Managing Director and Webmaster to update and maintain the organization’s website content.
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar for all media platforms.
  • Create engaging social media posts, graphics, videos, and event promotions.
  • Coordinate with VP, Patrons to manage email marketing campaigns and newsletters.

Programming and Events

  • Lead marketing efforts for concert programs, special events, and fundraising activities.
  • Coordinate promotional materials including flyers, posters, and digital ads.
  • Assist with concert programs as needed.
  • Develop audience and membership acquisition and retention campaigns.

Analytics

  • Track website traffic, email engagement, social media growth, ticket sales, and audience demographics.
  • Prepare monthly reports for the Board.
  • Evaluate campaign effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Arts Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience, or 2+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or nonprofit promotion.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience managing social media platforms and email marketing tools.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in nonprofit, arts, performing arts, or cultural organizations.
  • Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools.
  • Experience with website content management systems (WordPress preferred).
  • Knowledge of donor management/email platforms such as Network for Good.
  • Basic understanding of digital advertising and analytics tools.
  • Knowledge of social media platform scheduling tools such as Metricool or HootSuite.

Schedule

This position averages 10 hours per week, varying by season. Hours may exceed 10 per week leading up to concert programming in July, early- and mid-December, March, and May. Hours may be lower than 10 per week during other times of the year.

Pay

$40 per hour, with a maximum of $20,000 during The Reston Chorale’s fiscal year (July 2026 to June 2027). This is a 1099 contract position.
