About the role

The Marketing Manager I, Oncology - Capabilities & Operations, Congress Team is responsible for owning a portfolio of high-value oncology congresses, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute congress strategies, and leading the branded/non-branded asset promotional approval process.

Responsibilities

  • Own a portfolio of high-value oncology congresses; lead the end-to-end congresses from initial brief through post-show analysis.
  • Develop and implement SOPs for high-value oncology congresses.
  • Conduct post-congress analysis and optimization: gather feedback, review budget recaps, and inform future congress strategy.
  • Exercise strategic thinking to identify trends, recommend improvements, and shape the evolution of the congress program.
  • Manage project budgets and track and submit purchase orders as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate congress messaging, collateral production, and release dates.
  • Lead the branded/non-branded asset promotional approval process and ensure firewall compliance.
  • Design and build exhibits with AbbVie's Congress Agency of Record and exhibit vendors.
  • Oversee vendor coordination for audio visual, booth design/fabrication, graphics, hospitality, shipping, and show services.
  • Work closely with creative, CRM, content, and social media teams to coordinate congress messaging, collateral production, and release dates.
  • Develop and implement SOPs for high-value congress engagements.
  • Develop and maintain project trackers for coordination of milestones.
  • Lead the branded/non-branded asset promotional approval process and ensure firewall compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of congress/events/meeting planning work experience.
  • Preferred certifications: Certified Meeting Planner (CMP), Certified Trade Show Marketer (CTSM), Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP), Certified in Exhibition Management (CEM), or specialized training in congress and sponsorship management experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the oncology therapeutic and commercial operations.
  • Previous Veeva Promo mats (Medical/Promo/Regulatory) Routing experience.
  • Strong budget management and project management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate a cross-functional team, facilitate prominent levels of collaboration to achieve results.
  • Ability to lead without authority, driving through execution across multiple functionally diverse stakeholders; thereby, organizing information in an appropriate format to gain stakeholder buy-in.
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a history of trusted partnerships and achieving results while managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to assess risks and benefits to make timely, sound decisions with various levels of information, and accept responsibility for meeting and/or exceeding objectives.
  • Highly organized, meet project deadlines, and proactively deliver to fulfill business objectives.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and other internet platforms/tools.
  • Up to 30% of travel; inclusive of weekend travel needs based upon congress dates.

Qualifications

  • Must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
  • Minimum requirement of three days in the office; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs, or their role.

Pay

$109,500 - $208,500 USD

Schedule

Primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely, following the policies and regulations in place at their location.
