About the role

The Marketing Coordinator supports GSEC’s Marketing and Communications team through content coordination, campaign execution, newsletters, email marketing, social media coordination and event-related marketing support. This role helps build and sustain the marketing capacity that drives awareness of GSEC’s work and the region’s investment value proposition. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications, the Marketing Coordinator works closely with the Marketing and Communications team, Creative Director, Business Development team, social media contractor and other internal stakeholders to execute marketing materials and campaigns aligned with organizational priorities. This position requires strong writing skills, attention to detail, organization, follow-through and the ability to manage multiple content and campaign deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end production of GSEC’s monthly newsletters, including editorial scheduling, drafting, coordination, review and deployment.
  • Maintain and update the newsletter content calendar in alignment with organizational priorities, campaign timing, events and major initiatives.
  • Track and report on newsletter performance metrics to support continuous improvement.
  • Execute email marketing campaigns in support of GSEC’s account-based marketing and demand generation strategy, in coordination with the Vice President of Marketing and Communications and Business Development team.
  • Assist with audience segmentation, campaign sequencing, email deployment, performance tracking and related campaign reporting.
  • Build familiarity with GSEC’s business development pipeline to ensure marketing outputs are aligned with outreach priorities and target audiences.
  • Write clear, on-brand copy for website pages, presentations, marketing materials, event collateral, email campaigns and other communications needs.
  • Serve as a first-pass proofreader on departmental outputs before materials move to the Creative Director or leadership for review.
  • Develop content in collaboration with the Creative Director for campaigns, announcements and high-priority initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to GSEC’s social media contractor, including briefing, content calendar review and alignment with broader campaign priorities.
  • Develop custom social content in partnership with the Creative Director for select campaigns, announcements and organizational priorities.
  • Develop and coordinate marketing materials for GSEC events, including promotional copy, scripts, email content, social content and related event collateral.
  • Support event promotion across email, social media and other marketing channels.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather information, clarify project needs, track deadlines and support timely execution of marketing deliverables.
  • Maintain organized marketing files, content calendars, campaign documentation and project tracking tools as needed.
  • Complete special projects and other related duties as assigned.

Requirements, qualifications and desired traits

  • 0-3 years of experience in marketing, communications, content coordination, email marketing, campaign execution or a related field.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to adapt tone and voice across audiences, including investors, site selectors, partners, public-sector stakeholders and the general public.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms, newsletters, campaign tracking and basic analytics, including Google Analytics.
  • Highly organized with strong project coordination skills and comfort working within shared workflow or project management tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, proofreading ability and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Ability to execute within direction set by senior staff while bringing curiosity, initiative and follow-through to the work.
  • Collaborative, coachable and comfortable working across departments and with external contractors.
  • Experience with social media coordination, content calendars, website updates, CRM systems or marketing automation tools preferred.
  • Familiarity with B2B marketing, economic development, real estate, public-sector communications or nonprofit communications is a plus.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to work occasional early mornings, evenings or off-site events as needed.

Physical requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Ability to assist with event setup and onsite support, which may include standing, walking, bending, lifting and moving event materials.

Pay

$25.00 - $33.00 per hour. Salary range is dependent on experience. This position is eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable law.
