Environmental Demands
Employee work location is determined by the needs of the specific team and may include on-site, hybrid, or remote. Work location is subject to change.
- In-office: Requires coming into the office most days with occasional flexibility to work remotely if tasks can be performed elsewhere and the manager approves.
- Remote: Allows working from a home office in one of the following states: AZ, CA, CO, IL, MD, MA, MI, MN, NV, NY, NC, OH, OR, TN, TX, VA, WA, WI, or Washington, DC.
- Hybrid: A mix of in-office and remote work. Employees within a reasonable commute distance from a Crain office are expected to work on-site 3 days per week. The schedule may be specified or at the discretion of the employee with manager approval.
Many positions include "field work," such as conducting in-person interviews, attending events, or meeting with sources/clients. Travel to cover news stories, client meetings, or visits to geographically separated offices may be required. Non-standard working hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends, may be necessary. Work schedules and travel requirements are subject to change as roles evolve.
