Marketing Communications Manager
About the role
The Manager, Marketing Communication (MCM) leads the development, implementation, and alignment of Community Health Choice’s internal and external communication strategies. This role supports membership growth, employee engagement, and brand consistency across all lines of business and platforms, including digital and social media. The MCM creates annual communication plans, sets strategic goals, tracks performance metrics, and ensures timely reporting. The position oversees messaging for members, prospective members, employees, and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with brand standards, regulatory requirements, and strategic objectives. It manages internal communication (e.g., employee engagement campaigns, corporate town halls, leadership events) and coordinates external efforts with vendors and delegated entities, while providing direct supervision to communication staff and contractors.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Communication Leadership (25%) – Develops and executes enterprise‑wide communication strategies aligned with the organization’s mission, marketing objectives, and membership goals. Leads strategic planning, sets performance metrics (KPIs), monitors outcomes, and recommends optimizations. Oversees editorial calendar development and enterprise‑wide communication plans for members, providers, brokers, delegates, employees, and external audiences.
- External Communication and Brand Management (20%) – Oversees external messaging to ensure alignment with brand standards and regulatory guidelines. Manages communications with vendors, delegates, and partners to ensure consistency across all platforms. Maintains brand integrity across all communication and promotional initiatives.
- Internal Communication and Engagement (15%) – Develops internal communication strategies that support employee engagement and reinforce brand values. Manages enterprise‑wide internal campaigns, messaging, and leadership communications such as town halls and engagement initiatives.
- Content Development and Messaging (15%) – Creates and manages messaging tailored to multiple audiences across traditional, digital, and social channels. Applies innovative thinking to develop tiered, audience‑focused communication plans responsive to organizational priorities.
- Project Management (15%) – Develops and oversees project plans for communication initiatives, ensuring alignment with timelines, resourcing, and cross‑functional coordination. Leads communication workstreams, ensuring quality deliverables and accountability.
- People Leadership and Team Development (10%) – Provides direct supervision, coaching, and performance management to communication staff and contractors. Fosters a high‑performing, collaborative team culture and drives knowledge sharing across projects.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration (10%) – Collaborates with Growth leadership and business units to support communication strategies across the growth pipeline. Maintains strong relationships with internal stakeholders to support communication and leadership initiatives.
- RFP and Reporting Support (5%) – Supports RFP response development and related communication content. Oversees presentation and report creation to support business development and strategic initiatives.
- Financial and Resource Management (5%) – Monitors project budgets, contractor hours, and overall resource allocation to ensure efficiency and alignment with organizational goals.
- Actively contributes to the achievement of departmental goals as identified in the department’s annual business plan, including specific process‑improvement plans and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, or communications.
- Minimum 6 + years of directly related experience.
- At least 3 + years of supervisory/management experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
