About the role

The Virginia Beach Campus is seeking a part-time Marketing Communications Coordinator to evaluate and implement creative and effective strategies to improve promotional and recruitment opportunities for the Marketing and Athletic Departments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage athletic advertising & media relations, website, social media, and sports information for the publicity, promotion, and multimedia game day needs of Bryant & Stratton College’s 9 sports teams.
  • Maintain and develop current social media channels.
  • Coordinate game day video broadcasts and prepare all game programs.
  • Maintain all material for the Region and NJCAA statistics and materials.
  • Prepare hometown stories, releases, and feature stories for student-athletes/coaches.
  • Maintain the department web site.
  • Coordinate photo coverage for all varsity sports.
  • Write sports wrap-ups on each varsity sport for external release and use in other publications.
  • Nominate student-athletes for scholarships, awards, and honors.
  • Maintain sports team photo files and organize the Athletic Hall of Fame, Scholar-Athlete Reception, and Athletic Awards Program.
  • Hire and manage home contest student workers and supervise assigned athletic department staff.
  • Meet with coaches, students, and other departments as needed and assist the Marketing & Athletic Directors in coordinating alumni events.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree is required, and experience in a college sports information office or comparable environment is preferred.

  • Strong leadership, role modeling, organizational, and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Must have an understanding of collegiate regulations and possess a strong knowledge of the digital media landscape.
  • Experience with video streaming and editing hardware and software is recommended.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong writing and editing capabilities, and project-management capabilities are required.

Skills

  • Graphic design, web, and video editing experience are a plus.
  • Knowledge of cutting-edge social media tools and technologies, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Snapchat.

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $18.00-20.00, and the selected candidate’s actual base pay will take into account a wide range of non-discriminatory factors.

Schedule

This position will require working nights, weekends, lifting light equipment, and some travel.
