About the role
The Marketing and Outreach Coordinator for HRWC serves as a member of a three-person marketing team, supporting organization-wide communications strategies that further HRWC’s brand and goals across a wide range of marketing and communications channels.
Responsibilities
- Work with the marketing team to implement organization-wide communications strategies, while evaluating analytics to inform content strategy and amplify our mission
- Design and produce of on-brand communications campaigns and materials that support HRWC’s strategic goals across a wide range of communication channels
- Serve as an HRWC brand ambassador—working with teams to uphold brand and messaging guidelines, keeping brand assets up-to-date and accessible organization-wide, and offering training for staff as needed
- Coordinate day-to-day communication systems including social media, email marketing, websites, and department policies and procedures
- Upkeep HRWC’s media library
- Cover outreach booth
- Coordinate the work of HRWC marketing and communications volunteers and interns
- Provide marketing and communications support on environmental education and outreach projects (working collaboratively with HRWC's program staff)
- Prepare written reports (quarterly and annual) to track and communicate progress on projects to internal and external audiences
- Work with contractors to produce and distribute materials
- Liaise between project staff and partners to facilitate decision-making
- Represent HRWC and partners at public events, including some weekends and evenings with some public speaking involved
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a marketing or communications role with a nonprofit, or equivalent experience, preferably with an emphasis on marketing, communications or outreach; or a Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations or related field
- Knowledge of emerging strategies in marketing, communications and outreach
- Organized, with demonstrated ability to balance both planned and unanticipated tasks and assignments
- Experience designing, writing, editing and proofreading materials
- Experience with graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) and strong design skills including the ability to quickly develop visually engaging multi-media content
- Excellent writing skills including ability to write clear impactful messaging and calls to action
- Knowledge of and experience using GA4, WordPress, social media, email, CRM platforms (Salesforce a plus) and/or other digital marketing tools
- Interest in engaging the public and community decision makers
- Good at working independently, as well as collaborating in small organizational teams
